"When a man’s ways please the Lord, He maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him" (Proverbs 16:7).
Has someone said cruel, untrue things about you, shattering your peace? B. Patrick says: "If a man slanders you, take care to live so that nobody will believe him, no matter who he is, or how he misuses you. There is nothing better than this cool, calm, quiet way of dealing with the wrongs we meet." Our Lord Jesus is the ultimate example. He was wronged by words, "Yet He opened not His mouth." When we take matters into our own hands we complicate things. The situation becomes worse instead of better. Don't retaliate. Let God intervene and be your mediator. His ways, His thoughts, His plans are perfect. You can trust Him to do what's right. "If God be for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31). After all, you are important to Him!
George Mueller, a man of faith for whom God answered many prayers, had a motto on his desk which he often read. It said, "It matters to Him about you." Write that motto upon your heart to comfort you and give you strength and faith for each day because, beloved, it matters to Him about you -- always.
