STRENGTH FOR THE DAY

DAY ONE

DAY BY DAY

"As thy days, so shall thy strength be" (Deuteronomy 33:25).

God gives us life by the day, and He has promised sufficient strength for each new day with its own peculiar needs and trials. If we dare to drag tomorrow's cares and pile them onto today's we will find our strength waning.

Charles Kingsley said: "Do today's duty, fight today's temptations and do not weaken and distract yourself by looking forward to things which you cannot see and could not understand if you saw them." No trusting child of God has ever been crushed by the burdens of one day. With His help, we can always bear the heaviest load until the sun goes down. And with each new day we will find sufficient grace and strength for the journey. 'Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might" by putting on "the whole armor of God" (Ephesians 6:10,11).

With God we are stronger than we realize. Today, by His limitless strength, we can bear every trial God allows. We can face life's battles victoriously as we learn to lean upon the companionship of Christ. We don't have to beg Him to be with us. By faith just believe that He is there -- now and forever!
