"The Lord reigneth; let the earth rejoice" (Psalm 97:1).
If we are completely truthful, there are days that are just plain tough to get through. You know the Lord loves you. You know you are His. And yet, things just seem out of control. Is God really paying attention? Doesn't He see how bad things have gotten? Just when you think it couldn't be worse, somehow, something happens ... and, yes ... it's worse!
But no matter how bad things may seem, there is one truth that will never change—God is in control! Nothing happens without His approval. Regardless of the problems, Jesus Christ is still King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He will bring justice to the earth in His time. And because He reigns, we shall also reign with Him! "If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him" (2 Timothy 2:12). How can that joyful thought fail to bring gladness to a downtrodden heart?
Because He is in control, even bad circumstances can bring about good. So, troubled heart, submit to His control. Rest in His promises. Then wait expectantly to see Him work in your life! You'll be amazed at what your God will do when He has full control of you!
