"I will hear what God, the Lord, will speak; for He will speak peace unto His people, and to His saints, but let them not turn again to folly" (Psalm 85:8).
John Hunter, in his book "Knowing God's Secrets" tells of a Christian lady who begged for peace in her heart for 15 years. She asked John Hunter for help. He suggested that for the next three days she should not ask God for anything. Instead, he told her to pray and thank God for His Salvation. Thank Him for His Son's death for her. Thank Him that He, her Savior, is her Joy, her Peace, her Strength. Thank Him that His promises never fail.
After one week, she returned. The change was amazing. Christ became relevant to her daily living. She began to live life in a new dimension, not because she asked, but because she said 'Thank you." Her home had peace. Her family moved out from under the shadow of gloom because the mother took what God was offering.
Are you living under your own man-made shadow? Or are you living in thanksgiving and peace under the shadow of His wings?
