STRENGTH FOR THE DAY

DAY EIGHT

FATHER, DO YOU CARE?

"Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance" (Psalm 42:5).

Cast down? You reason with yourself, but it doesn't help. You search for solutions, but nothing works. You are God's child, so how can your heart be troubled? You begin to question your Heavenly Father's care.

Regardless of your nagging doubts, God does care! As an earthly father waits for his child to come to him in time of trouble, so your Heavenly Father awaits your coming. He knows your need. Run to Him. He is far bigger than any problem you will ever face.

God stretches and pushes the saint until every now and again he cries, "I can't stand anymore." Trust yourself in God's hands. Faith is the heroic effort of your life as you fling yourself in reckless confidence on God.

The flaws in your life, when corrected by God, can bring forth new beauty. Some gems owe their brilliant color to flaws during their formation.

"The Lord will perfect that which concerns me" (Psalm 138:8).

Praise Him!
