MY HEART'S DESIRE
By Rev.
Larry W. Greiner
.
"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou
shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do
according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy
way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success" (Joshua
1:8).
TO KEEP GOD'S WORD IN MY
HEART AND DWELL UPON IT THROUGHOUT THE DAY.
"Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against
Thee" (Psalm 119:11).
TO CALL UPON THE LORD FOR
HELP AND WISDOM CONCERNING EVERY SITUATION THAT COMES MY WAY.
"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine
own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct
thy paths" (Proverbs 3:5,6).
TO WANT TO DO GOD'S WILL
ABOVE ALL ELSE.
"And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he
that doeth the will of God abideth forever" (1 John 2:17).
TO BE FILLED (CONTROLLED)
WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT MOMENT BY MOMENT .
"And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with
the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18).
TO YIELD THE MEMBERS OF MY
BODY TO GOD AS INSTRUMENTS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.
"Neither yield ye your members as instruments of
unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that
are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of
righteousness unto God" (Romans 6:13).
TO HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST,
SETTING MY MIND ON THINGS OF ETERNAL VALUE.
"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus"
(Philippians 2:5).
TO HELP BEAR THE BURDENS OF
OTHER BELIEVERS IN CHRIST.
"Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of
Christ" (Galatians 6:2).
TO SEEK FIRST THE THINGS OF
GOD.
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and
all these things shall be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33).
TO CAST ALL MY CARES UPON THE
LORD.
"Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you"
(1 Peter 5:7).
TO BE MORE PATIENT AND WAIT
UPON THE LORD .
"Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen
thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord" (Psalm 27:14).
TO RELY ON GOD'S POWER RATHER
THAN MY OWN.
"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency
of the power may be of God, and not of us" (2 Corinthians 4:7).
TO PRAISE THE LORD IN ALL MY
CIRCUMSTANCES .
"By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God
continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His
name" (Hebrews 13:15).
TO GLORIFY GOD IN ALL MY
THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS.
"For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your
body, and in your spirit, which are God's" (1 Corinthians 6:20).
TO SHARE THE GOSPEL WHEN
GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY.
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power
of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and
also to the Greek" (Romans 1:16).
"I can do
all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" (Philippians 4:13).
