LIGHT FOR MY DWELLING

DAY TWENTY SIX

RESTORATION

READ JAMES 5:7-11,16

"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 5;16).

Job was a righteous man who suffered greatly. In a seemingly endless chain of events, he began to lose everything. Would life ever be normal again? His friends did not befriend him and his comforters did not comfort him. Job’s wife said, "Curse God and die." Job wanted to die, but he would not curse God.

At first Job thought of his own goodness, but alas, compared with God, he was not good. When Job finally saw himself as he really was, he confessed his need. He began to pray for his friends. God brought him out of the dark tunnel and into a room of blessing.

You, too, have suffered and prayed and confessed. Don’t be dismayed. God’s delays are not necessarily denials. God knows when and how to deliver you. As we pray and admit our faults, God restores our spiritual health and touches the physical. The fervent prayer of a godly life explodes with power.

The Scripture says the fervent prayer
Of the righteous availeth much;
The whole of life in God's control
Can be healed by His blest touch.

Thou Zealous One, I would be zealous in prayer for others.
