"Great peace have they who love Thy law; and nothing shall offend them" (Psalm 119:165).
Have you been offended? Someone hurt you so deeply that you stumbled. Angry, spiteful words tripped you. A false accusation cut to your very heart. You were snubbed and ignored, slighted and rejected. Sadly, you reacted wrongly, revealing your true colors.
By being offended, we not only hurt ourselves, but others. But we need not be victims of hurt feelings and bruised emotions.
The Psalmist, in todays verse, shares the secret of spiritual victory, and as we put it into practice we can know great peace. It is possible not to stumble over anothers wrong toward us. The Psalmists secret: loving Gods law. We need to focus on His Word and there discover truths to counteract the wrongs of life.
Begin to enjoy your freedom in Christ by falling love with His Book.
As I feast on Gods Word, I find great peace in knowing all that I am and have in Christ. With God as my companion, I need never be ashamed or offended. He is my sure defense.
Though oft the enemy assails,
You need not be offended;
Omnipotence is on your side,
And you will be defended.
