"For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us" (Romans 8:18).
If you had in infinite telescope and could peer briefly into eternitys glory, your perspective regarding life on earth would dramatically change. You would see things in light of eternity.
Painful experiences, hurtful relationships, misunderstandings, losses, should all be viewed through Gods prism of perpetual promises. There is sunshine after rain. Storms dissolve into rainbows. The winds of adversity blow the trusting believer into the arms of glorious omnipotence. Todays afflictions can heighten future joy. Peace is sweeter after trial, and rest is more welcome after toil. Shadows come because there is light somewhere. Jesus Christ is the Light of the world. As you gaze on Him the shadows fall behind you.
Lord, keep my perspective clear! Let me live with eternitys values in view. The outlook is grand, and the uplook is glorious.
If we could see as God can see,
The burden would seem lighter;
Rewards and blessings, though unseen,
With faith grows ever brighter.
—E.R.G.
Lord, You are my Immanuel in every trial.
