DAY THIRTY ONE

WATCH WHAT YOU SAY

"They that feared the Lord spoke often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book- of remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the Lord, and thought upon His name " (Malachi 3:16).

Do you sometimes feel comparatively useless? Take heart, you are needed in God's world. Your life can be especially productive through your thoughts and words. Instead of concentrating on your inabilities, focus on God's almighty power, His grace, His loving kindness.

Do not mull over in your mind the evils of the day, your hurts or someone's wrong doings. Speak sweet God-given words. Replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts about your heavenly Father and your precious Savior. Talk of Him and His wonderful works in your life. God writes about your good thoughts and words about Him in His "book of remembrance."

F. B. Meyer said, "There are invalids who lie on their back through weary months and years, that are an inspiration in their homes. To their side the elders and children come for counsel and comfort."

"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, 0 Lord, my strength, and my redeemer " (Psalm 19:14).
