"Only fear the Lord and serve Him in truth with all your heart,— for consider how great things He hath done for you" (I Samuel 12:24).
Matthew Henry said: "A life spent in the service of God is the most comfortable and pleasant life that one can live in the present world."
Another great servant of the Lord, A.W. Tozer testified, "I have found the Lord cordial and generous and in every way easy to live with."
Were the lives of these men of God without trial, heartaches, sorrows? No! But in each trial God proved Himself to be all He promised to be. It has been said that "Testing is God's vote of confidence in us."
If you are a true believer in Jesus Christ, you have the privilege of being a servant of the Most High God in the home, at work, at school, in the neighborhood.
Through your trials you can be God's showcase, revealing the sufficiency of God in your life. You can forgive, because you have been forgiven. You can love, because you are loved. You can find by experience that your Valley of Trouble can lead to the Gateway of Hope.
God's deliverances are some of the "great things " He has done for you.
"Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing" (Psalm 100:2).
