"Shall Thy wonders be known in the dark? And Thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?" (Psalm 88:12).
A dark past can plague you! Years of physical or emotional abuse can rise up to haunt you. But God can do wonders in the dark recesses of life's pathway. His righteousness can light up the night seasons.
God's holy light can dissolve those dreaded secrets. Denial, rebellion, withdrawal will not heal your hurt. Bury your regrettable past in the "Land of Forgetfulness," and concentrate on Gods righteousness. God can do what you cannot do. "Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?" (Genesis 18:25).
"Forget those things which are behind. . . . reach forth unto those things which are before. . . . . press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3.-13,14).
Let God give you a new beginning. Become all God created you to be. You can start with a brand new slate. Use your hurts to help others.
George Mueller had the following motto on his wall: "And Today." Each of us can also claim "And Today" as our day-by-day motto. Our God is the God of the past, the future, and the present. He is the same "yesterday, and today, and for ever. "
