"
For, lo as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy" (Luke 1:44).It’s hard to imagine a baby leaping for joy in his mother's womb. What could be so wonderful as to cause this yet unborn child to react with such excitement? The baby heard the voice of the virgin Mary, who was carrying the Christ Child. The nearness of the Lord Jesus brought such glee to that little one that he could not contain himself. Now that is pure joy!
Does Jesus cause such joy in you? Does even the whisper of His name evoke a smile of delight? Does His nearness put a song in your heart? It should! And if it doesn’t, there is cause to worry. "In His presence is fullness of joy."
Jesus is the source of joy. He suffered and died to give you joy. He loves you beyond description, and the one thing that brings joy to His heart is when you open your life to Him and allow Him to fill it with Himself. You really matter to Him.
Although any eyes with
tears o'erflow
And sore my heart may be,
Come joy or sorrow, this I know:
His will is sweet to me.
No harm can pass Thy perfect will,
And in Thy love my heart is still.
