DON'T WORRY 'BOUT NOTHIN'
"Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and long suffering with joyfulness" (Colossians 1:11).
Do you find it difficult to wait? A five-year-old boy planted an acorn, and poured water on the buried seed. "Don't have to worry about nothin', Mom. God will take care of it." Five minutes later the boy dug down to see how his seed was growing. Impatience!
Your acorn may not have sprouts in five minutes, but God has His way of making it grow. It may take much longer than you think or wish. That is why you need patience and longsuffering with joyfulness.
Is such a thing possible? With God's glorious power, it is. That is the secret of joyous victory—strength to be patient, and strength to endure, even in your unique situation.
The Lord holds our hand in His—our weak one in His all-powerful one. He keeps us from falling when we encounter rough places on the path. He holds us up as we stumble over problems, needs, sorrows, and heartaches. Thus we can face each day unafraid as we rest in Him.
As your acorn grows into a strong, beautiful oak tree, your joy can overflow as you "wait for God."
Believe. Trust Him. He will bring His purpose to fruition in His good time. Oh, joy!
