DAY ONE

DELIGHTFUL MEDITATION

"His delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law doth he meditate day and night" (Psalm 1:2).

On what do you meditate (ponder, murmur in pleasure, music, revolve in your mind)? It is profitable to meditate on the Psalms, "the music room of the Bible." Sing, whisper or pray the words of the Psalmist in your present situation. Precious Psalm thoughts can encourage, inspire and soothe a ruffled spirit.

Ambrose said, "Prayer is the wing wherewith the soul flies to Heaven, and meditation the eye wherewith we see God." God is relevant. Concentrate on His almighty ability to meet you where you are at this very moment.

With your roots anchored deep by the river of God, you can cope with the rough winds and raging storms of overwhelming, out-of-control circumstances. In the dry seasons of life you can tap into the pure, refreshing stream of God’s love, grace and mercy. God is! Cod can! God will! Believe Him. Delight in Him and in His law. Enjoy Him in the daytime and in the night season. Meditate on His faithfulness.

"From gloom and doubt I would be free,
So fill my thoughts, O Lord, with Thee."
