There
was a boy that went to school
Whose grades were very poor,
The teacher said, "It'd be a waste
To teach him any more!"
The boy
went home and told his mom
What he had overheard;
She grabbed her son and said,
"Let's make that teacher eat his words!"
So to
the school they headed,
They dare not wait for long,
And this is how she told the teacher
That he had been all wrong.
"You
don't know what you're saying,
Or who you're talking to.
In fact, I know that my own son
Has lots more brains than you!"
That boy
lived to a ripe old age,
Lending a helping hand.
He credits his success to
This dear mom who took that stand.
Had it
not been for her faith in him,
(And faith is the best medicine)
To this day you would not know
This boys named Thomas Edison.
