FEAR NOT

"Do not fear," the Father said,
"I’ll be with you on the road ahead."
"But I am scared," the child replied;
And then the child sat down and cried.

"Do not fear," the Father said,
As He stroked the crying child’s head;
"Trust in Me and I shall lead.
You need not fear, I’m all you need."

Then the child drew up his chin
And saw the Father’s knowing grin.
The Father pulled the child to stand
And gently held his trembling hand.

The Father stepped ahead to lead,
While the child followed close, indeed.
"Now do not fear," the Father smiled,
"Just trust in Me, for you’re My child."

"But, Father," said the child so small,
"I cannot see far ahead at all.
The road is dark and narrow, too;
All I can see is the back of You!"

"Do not fear," the Father said,
"Don’t follow the road, follow Me instead."
Now in his Father’s shadow tall
The child walked on with no fear at all.
