A WOMAN’S PRAYER

Oh Lord, help me be
All the woman I can be —-
A godly one,
Bringing glory to Your name.
Help my life shine for You
In everything I say and do.
Through trial and blessing
May I serve You just the same.
Many needs cry to be met,
And in the rush I do forget
That You promised
All my needs You would fulfill.
Oh how easily I worry,
But it’s only when I hurry
And I don’t take time
To hear You and be still.
Oh, Lord, help me be
The wife and mother I should be,
The friend, the sister, the daughter,
All the roles I play.
For it’s only by your grace
That I don’t fall upon my face
In frustration and despair
Along the way.
I have so far, Lord, to go,
But what a comfort just to know
You are right beside me,
Showing me the way.
If I seek Your kingdom first,
Then I need not fear the worst,
For I know that You
Will guide me day by day.
May my life, Lord, be a light
That others see as shining bright,
As a testament to what
Your love can do.
May they not be drawn to me
But rather only Jesus see,
As on this day
I dedicate my life to You.
