To Father

Your love cannot be put to music,
Your grace can't be spoken or penned,
Your faithfulness cannot pierce logical minds,
Your mercy I can't comprehend.

Your majesty so overwhelms me,
Your holiness boggles my mind,
And then just to think that You'd live in the hearts
Of desperately wicked mankind.

The gift of Your Son makes me wonder,
How could One so lavishly give?
You sent Him to earth just to die on a cross,
That we finite humans might live.

Forgiveness is mine for the asking,
That fact ceases not to amaze;
You love me enough to forgive and forget,
No matter how sinful my ways.

You're so understanding and patient,
You loved me when no one else could,
You constantly help me through all of my trials,
And tell me they're for my own good.

Oh, Father, I honor and praise You;
Your attributes I can't ignore;
You're loving, you're gracious,
You're patient, You're kind.

Oh, Father, You're all this and more.

Love,
Wendy
