PRESS ON
As time goes on, so do our lives,
While running for that winning prize.
What is this prize we're striving for?
It's not of earth, it's something more.
The prize will be the opening of
Those pearly gates to Heaven above.
The prize of God's approving smile
Will make our troubles all worthwhile.
The prize for which we boldly run
Is to hear Him say, "My child, well done!"
The prize will be the faces of
The ones we brought to Christ in love.
The prize to know no more we'll roam,
To hear Him say, "Child, welcome home!"
The prize is more than words can say,
For we have yet to reach that day.
Christ promised we shall overcome;
But till that day, He says, "Press on!"
