To give a gift to You, O Lord,
Is all my heart’s desire,
But what have I to give to You,
For what does God require?
If only I could know Your mind,
To give You what You need,
If You had but a Christmas List
That I could simply read.
But wait, I have a perfect
thought
That must have come from You:
I have a list of what You want
For me to hear and do.
Your Christmas list is written
down
Inside Your precious Book;
To truly know Your heart’s desire
I only need to look.
To love the Lord with all my
heart,
With all my soul and might,
To serve the Lord with faithfulness
And always do what’s right.
To humbly walk beside my God
And His commands obey,
To fear my great and mighty God,
Yet know His love will stay.
To justly act and mercy show,
These all are gifts to bring;
And that is what we all can give
To Jesus Christ the King.
